Gary Debien

Gary Debien, born May 6, 1942, in Norfolk, NY, has cast his final line, hung up his hunting gear and set his last trap, as he embarked on his most adventurous journey yet on June 13, 2026. Gary was a resilient spirit, outfitted with a dash of humble charm that made him a beloved character in Piercefield, New York. After attending Norwood-Norfolk High School, this brave patriot enlisted in the US Army. Upon returning, he moved to Piercefield where he worked as a heavy equipment operator for the Town of Piercefield until his retirement in 1981. In his downtime, Gary was a true outdoorsman, who loved fishing, hunting, and trapping in the Adirondacks.

Gary is survived by his son Darren Debien, his daughter Darcy (Timothy) Lawn, his grandsons Alexander, Samuel, Logan, Dustin, Cody, and Jason, and his granddaughter Jennifer. He is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Doris Debien, and his son Dennis (Donna - deceased) Debien.

Gary's spirit will continue to inspire those who knew him to embrace every day with resilience, seek out adventure, and live humbly. We invite you to share your memories of Gary, and upload photos to his memorial page, as a way to celebrate his life and the joy he brought to ours.
