Dawn Young

Dawn M. Young, age 51, of Tupper Lake (formerly of Gouverneur and Cranberry Lake) passed away on June 25, 2026 at her home under the care of her family and Hospice.

Dawn was born on April 22, 1975 in Gouverneur to Ralph and JoAnn (McAllister) Young. She graduated from Gouverneur High School in 1993 and earned her LPN degree the same year. A marriage to Brian Bullard ended in divorce. Together they shared a son, Chase, who was her world.

Dawn began her nursing career at Mercy Healthcare in Tupper Lake, then spent years caring for her patients at Adirondack Medical Center’s Healthcare clinic. For many years, she volunteered as an EMT in the Cranberry Lake Fire Department, then served as their EMS Chief.

Surviving is her mother, JoAnn Young of Gouverneur; her son, Chase (Grace Holmes) Bullard of Cranberry Lake; a sister, Sarah (Andy) Leroux of Newton Falls; a niece, Paige (Wyatt) Porter of Russell; a granddaughter, Parker of Cranberry Lake; great nephew, Joseph of Russell; her aunt, Janet Fuller of Gouverneur; her companion, Christopher Mitchell of Tupper Lake and many cousins. She is predeceased by her father, Ralph Young.

Anyone who ever knew Dawn will remember her for her heart of gold, her willingness to help anyone in need, her beautiful smile, and her love of a good party.

There will be calling hours for Dawn on Sunday, June 28, 2026 from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at French Family Funeral Home in Star Lake. There will be a celebration of life at a later date. Condolences may be shared online at www.frenchfuneralhomes.com.
