Michael Bedard

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Michael Robert Bedard, who died at the age of 76 on December 24, 2025, at his retirement home in Port Charlotte, Florida, surrounded by his wife and children.

Mike spent his childhood and early years in Tupper Lake, NY, where he met his loving and devoted wife, Nancy (Hart) Bedard. Shortly after the birth of their first child, he moved to Florida to begin his career and build a life for his growing family. A dedicated and hardworking man, Mike became a respected and skilled tradesman, ultimately mastering his craft as a welder. In 1989, he returned to New York and resided in Plattsburgh on Lake Champlain. Over the course of more than 40 years, he was an active and proud member of the local unions in both Florida and New York, dedicating himself to his profession until his retirement.

Mike believed deeply in life’s simple pleasures. A scenic view, a quiet walk in nature, or a beautiful sunset made for a perfect day in his eyes. Even better were the days spent boating, fishing, or hunting alongside friends and family. His lifelong love of the outdoors, especially the water, was evident to all who knew him.

Mike is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy; his children, Calla, Sharon, and John; four cherished grandchildren; his brother, Roger Bedard; and his sister, Ann Hollenbeck. He was predeceased by his parents, Norman and Theresa Bedard.

Though his earthly journey has come to an end, the impact his life made on all he met will endure. He is profoundly loved, deeply missed, and forever present in our hearts.

Details regarding memorial services will be shared once arrangements have been finalized.
