Robert “Bob” Neal Lorensen, 74
Robert “Bob” Neal Lorensen, 74, of Queensbury, N.Y. passed away on Sunday September 7, 2025 at Pine Haven Home in Philmont, N.Y.
Born June 6, 1951 in Bayonne, N.J. and raised in North River, N.Y., he was the son of the late Ann and Cornelius Lorensen.
Besides his parents, Robert was predeceased by one son, Joshua Grant Lorensen.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sandra Mary Lorensen, and four of their children- Robert John Lorensen of Queensbury, Katherine Anne Southwick of Austerlitz, N.Y., Zachary James Lorensen of Wilton, N.Y. and Emily Cecelia Lorensen of Gansevoort, N.Y.
Robert had a large family with seven siblings- Ronaldo Lorensen, Barbara Miller, Henry Lorensen, Billy Lorensen, David Lorensen, Chris Lorensen, and Linda Vandermark.
He was a machine room operator at Finch and Pruyn Paper in Glens Falls, NY for 25+ years.
Robert was known for his unparalleled love and devotion to his family. He was the best dad anyone could ask for- he always put the needs of his loved ones above his own. His life was marked by quiet selflessness, constant generosity, and an unfailing commitment to his family and those he cherished. He had a wonderful sense of humor, often sharing dad jokes and quick wit that kept everyone smiling.
He found joy in the simple things: he loved the outdoors and especially fishing, where he shared not only his love of the sport, but also his stories, photos, and skill in teaching his kids how to cast a line. He enjoyed feeding and watching the birds and squirrels and had a special fondness for golden retrievers.
Robert enjoyed old westerns and actions movies. He was instantly recognizable with his trademark Santa Claus beard and Indiana Jones hat.
Per Robert’s wishes, no calling hours will be held. Funeral services and burial will be held privately for the family.
Arrangements are under the direction of Bates and Anderson Funeral Home, 110 Green Street, Hudson, NY.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Trout Unlimited or Bay Ridge Rescue Squad in memory of Robert.
