Dawn (Bell) Tarbox

It is with heartfelt sadness that the family of Dawn Tarbox of 36 Underwood Road, Tupper Lake announce her passing.

Dawn entered her eternal rest on Friday, September 12 at her home surrounded by her loving family, following a one year relentless battle with cancer.

Born on May 19, 1958 she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Najarene (Ellis) Bell and the eldest of seven children.

She attended Holy Ghost Academy and graduated from Tupper Lake High School in 1976. Dawn later married Kevin Tarbox of Piercefield at St. Alphonsus Church, with the Rev. Lawrence Deno officiating.

Together, Dawn and Kevin raised three beautiful children: Christopher, Kelly and Kristi, instilling in them the qualities by which they themselves had been raised: the importance of family, to be loving, kind, compassionate, loyal and grateful always for even the smallest of blessings.

While caring for her family, Dawn was also employed at Sunmount Care Homes, Uihlein Mercy Center and Home Healthcare prior to her retirement.

Dawn was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Kevin, and eldest daughter Kelly, who both passed away in 2019 merely six weeks apart. Two brothers-in-law also predeceased her- Bart Tarbox and Sam Zaidan.

Dawn’s survivors include her son Christopher (Erin) Tarbox, of East Greenbush; her daughter Kristi (Scott) Quesnel, and son-in-law Kyle Quesnel of Tupper Lake; seven granchildren-McKenzie, Levi, Mayson, Avarie and Cooper, Tupper Lake; Brayden and Brinley Tarbox, East Greenbush. Also surviving are two sisters-Darlene Zaidan, Port Kent, and Debbie Jones, four brothers-Derrick, David (Gina), Darryl, Dale (Sherry) all of Tupper Lake; one aunt- Elizabeth Bell, a sister-in-law Pat Tarbox, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

As per her wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held on May 17, 2026 to celebrate a beautiful life well lived. Complete details will be announced prior to the celebration.
