A Funeral Mass for Georgianna “Jean” Garrow, age 89, of Tupper Lake, will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025 at 2p.m. at St. Alphonsus Church with Rev. James Teti officiating. Burial will take place following the Mass at Holy Name Cemetery.

Jean passed away on Monday afternoon June 16, 2025 at the Mercy Living Center. Arrangements are under the direction of Frary Funeral Home, Tupper Lake.

She is survived by her brother, Norm McFaul and his wife Nancy, of Jay, and several step-brothers and sisters. She is predeceased by her parents and husband, Louis Garrow in 2006; her parents; her siblings, Lee McFaul, Douglas McFaul, Vernon McFaul, Patricia Miller, and Judy Willette.

Jean was born on July 11, 1935, in Malone, New York, the daughter of James and Dororthy Rust McFaul. She attended local schools and began work at the Grand Union grocery store.

She married Louis Garrow on September 19, 1953 at Holy Name Church in Tupper Lake. Jean had also worked as a cafeteria aide at Adirondack Medical Center before retiring and becoming a foster grandparent at Sunmount DDSO. She then became a teacher’s aide at Tupper Lake Central School where she worked into her 70’s.

She cherished her time at her camp on Bartlett Carry, where she created lasting memories with family and friends. An avid knitter, she found joy in crafting, especially in making caps for newborns at the hospital in Saranac Lake. Her generous spirit extended to the broader community through her dedicated volunteer work at the Food Pantry in Tupper Lake. Always compassionate and selfless, she was ever ready to lend a helping hand to those in need.
