Richard Earl Wilson, 95
Graveside services for Richard Earl Wilson, age 95, of Tupper Lake will be held on Saturday, September, 27, 2025 at 11a.m. at St. Alphonsus Cemetery.
Mr. Wilson peacefully passed away on June 3rd, 2025 in the Tupper Lake Center Nursing and Rehabilitation. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Frary Funeral Home, Tupper Lake.
Richard is survived by his children, Michael Yerdon and his companion Kaye Facey, of Ogdensburg, Timothy Wilson, of South Carolina, and Stephen Wilson and his companion Renea Brabant, of Ogdensburg; his grandchildren, Kenny Yerdon, Jimmy Yerdon, Dawn Yerdon, and Ashley Wilson; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his wife; his parents; and his sister, Betty Feeley.
Richard was born on January 22, 1930, in Tupper Lake, NY, to Earl and Beatrice (Coutu) Wilson. He earned an associate’s degree before serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After his military service, he worked for many years at Johnson’s Lumber in Tupper Lake, and later as a carpenter at Sunmount DDSO, where he remained until his retirement. He married Theresa Janet DeCare on October 27, 1960 at St. Alphonsus Church. She predeceased him on March 10, 1999.
Richard was a past member of the Moose Head Outing Club. A skilled craftsman, he built a cedar strip guide boat by hand. Hobbies he deeply cherished were fishing, hunting, and spending time in the outdoors. Among his favorite places in the Adirondacks were Raßquette Falls and Coreys.
