Kenneth P. Carmichael
Dan McClelland
It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Kenneth P. Carmichael. Kenny passed away unexpectedly on May 30th, 2024.
Kenny was born to Floyd Carmichael and Ruth (Perkins) Carmichael on November 8th, 1951, in Tupper Lake, where he grew up and attended both the Holy Ghost Academy and the Tupper Lake Middle/High School.
Kenny then attended college in Iowa for one year and then transferred to the University of Florida, where he majored in Russian History.
Kenny always enjoyed sharing stories of living in Gainesville, FL with his chums!
Kenny eventually moved back to Tupper Lake and worked various jobs and married his wife Susan Gaudet. Kenny was a long time employee of the A & P grocery store. Kenny also worked at Mercy Living Center as well. Kenny enjoyed watching sports and keeping up with all the scores (especially his beloved NY Yankees)!
Kenny also really enjoyed announcing/commentating for the local men’s softball league back in the day, where he was known as “half a hat” as Kenny was always wearing a visor. He was also known as the coupon King! Kenny loved spending time with his chums – whether it be on a pontoon boat on the lake in the summer with his buddies or attending one of his favorite local events- Little Wolf Stock which he always looked forward to. Kenny had friends near and far and has kept in touch with some of his best friends from high school up until the day he passed away.
Kenny was a friend to all who knew him and was always trying to help someone out. He will truly be missed by so many!
Kenneth is survived by his daughter Bethany Kentile (Carmichael) and Curtis Kentile of Tupper Lake and his granddaughter Emma (Kenny’s pride and joy was his one and only granddaughter.) Kenneth is also survived by his brother Daniel (Boonie) Carmichael and his sister Peg Paiement. Kenneth is predeceased by his parents Floyd & Ruth Carmichael, his sister Mariruth Brown (Carmichael), and his wife Susan Carmichael.
The family followed Kenny’s wishes with no wake or funeral services but there will be a Celebration of Life in the near future for all of Kenny’s family and friends to get together, reminisce, and celebrate Kenny! Details to follow.
