James Rolan King, age 67, of Tupper Lake, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 10, 2024.
James was born on February 13, 1957. He was a graduate of Tupper Lake High School and spent the majority of his life in Tupper Lake.
He was the beloved son of the late Rolan and Mary King. James was employed by the Village of Tupper Lake as DPW foreman for many years and later retired from Sunmount DDSO as a DDSCTA. His true passion was in the collection and sale of antiques.
James's life touched so many people, as demonstrated by the recent influx of calls and visits from friends and family. He cherished friendship and family above all else. His affection for his children and grandchildren was beyond measure.
James is survived by his two daughters, Jessica (King) Dingman and her husband Timothy of Herkimer, N.Y. and Katelyn (King) Drayse and her husband Michael of Tupper Lake; his son, James Michael King of Tupper Lake; and his two granddaughters, Vivian Allen and Millie Drasye of Tupper Lake.
James is also survived by his two brothers, Robert King and his wife Sharon of Tupper Lake and William King and his wife Sherri of Tupper Lake; his one sister, Dorothy Cleary and her husband John of Canandaigua, N.Y.; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 28, 2024 at 11a.m. at the Tupper Lake Christian Center followed by a Funeral Mass at noon. Burial will take place after the service in Holy Name Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Christian Center immediately following the burial.
