Reginald E. Charron, 100

Dan McClelland

Reginald E. Charron, residing in Piercefield and snowbird to Lady Lake, Florida passed away peacefully while in Florida of natural causes at 100 years old.

Reggie was born in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The family moved to Piercefield when Reg was a child.

He graduated from Tupper Lake High school in 1940, then served in the U.S. Army in WWII in the South Pacific.

On his return to Piercefield, Reg worked to support the town and was a founding member of the Piercefield Volunteer Fire Company.

In 1952 he married Doris, the love of his life. They had three children together.

Reg became a supervisor at Rochester Products - General Motors, in Rochester, N.Y. and retired at the age of 58.

Growing up in the Adirondacks cultivated his passion for hunting, fishing, and enjoying nature.

He also competed in skeet shooting, throwing horseshoes, and archery where he won many regional and New York State championships.

In later years he could be found playing pool or golfing with many of his life-long friends.

Reggie was predeceased by his wife, Doris, his parents Arthur and Albina. Brother Andrew, his sister Alene, and brother Gerald.

He is survived by his daughters Kim Roberts, Leslie Macartney (Michael), and son Eric Charron (Laura) four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Gerard, Jeannine, Jean Guy and, Lisette, all who reside in Canada.

Military Burial at Holy Name in Tupper Lake, NY. Date to be determined.
