John Matthew Sparks II, age 57, passed away on Friday, April 17, 2020 at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh, NY, with his loving family by his side.

At John’s request, there will be no calling hours. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Frary-Stuart Funeral Home.

John was born on January 25, 1963, son of John Matthew and Jean Zelma LaVallee Sparks of Tupper Lake, who predeceased him.

He is survived by his wife, Joanne Sparks, his daughter, Jennifer J. Sparks of NC.; two stepsons, Derrick R. Olds, and his wife, Katherine, of Tupper Lake and Kristopher Olds of FL.; six beautiful grandsons; his brother, William Sparks, and his wife, Kathy, of Florida; two sisters, Colleen Sparks, and her companion, Dan Woodard, of North Carolina, and Patricia Littlefield, and her husband, Kevin, of Tupper Lake; brothers, Michael Sparks, and his wife, Valerie, of Tupper Lake, Nedd Sparks, and his wife, Tracy, of Tupper Lake; sister-in-law Kathryn Amell, and her husband, Billy, of Tupper Lake; brother-in-law David LaPlante. Also, his best furry friend, Bear.

After graduating from Tupper Lake High School, he started his career in the trucking industry until his retirement in 2017. John and his wife spent their summers caretaking for Little Wolf Beach and Campground. During the winter months they enjoyed their grandsons in Florida. John married the love of his life, Joanne Marie on June 6, 1987. The two of them enjoyed spending time together riding their motorcycles, traveling with their camper visiting family and friends and listening to his large collection of music.
