After a lengthy battle with health issues, Patricia D. Cook, 75, of Tupper Lake, accepted God’s invitation to join him in his heavenly paradise.

Pat was born in Constable, N.Y. on March 17, 1945, the only child of Bernard F. and Hortense Collins Duffy. Born and raised on the family farm, Pat graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy in 1963.

She went on to Manpower the training program, earning a certificate of completion. Pat went to work at Malone Central Schools and later the NYS Department of Corrections, BOCES and NYS OPPDD.

She met her husband of 50 years, Bruce, while attending the Manpower program. After a very long courtship, the two were married at Notre Dame Church in Malone on May 1, 1971. The couple made their home on Fayette Rd., Malone. They later moved to Tupper Lake in 1979.

Pat is survived by her husband and best friend, Bruce; her son Brent of Tupper Lake; daughter Colleen Fish, and her husband, Matthew, of Gansevoort, N.Y.; grandson Chase Cook who was the “Apple of her eye” and whom she loved beyond measure.

She is also survived by her sister Gertrude Clement of Tupper Lake; in-laws Gloria Smith of Chateaugay, N.Y., Gary, and his wife Irene, of Higganum, CT, Roger, and his wife Wanda, of Beekmantown, N.Y., Sybil, and her husband John, of Malone, Wayne of Chateaugay, Doug and his wife, Marsha, of Brainardsville, N.Y., Keith of Chateaugay, Carol, and her husband, Larry, of Keota. OK, Kirby, and his wife, Marie of Chateaugay, and Kelly of Chateaugay. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews, too many to count on both hands.

Also surviving are her loving grand-dogs, Emmit Grover Fish of Gansevoort and Beau Diddley of Tupper Lake. Pat is predeceased by her parents, and infant sister Mary and sister-in-law, Jill Marie Cook.

Pat enjoyed spending time with her family. She also liked cooking, social gatherings, and RV camping.

Pat was known for her generosity and love of children.

At Pat’s request, there will be no calling hours. A funeral Mass will take place on November 18, 2020 at 10a.m. at St. Alphonsus Church. A burial will take place immediately following the services at Holy Name Cemetery. A Celebration of Life and get-together will be held at a later date. Services are under the care and direction of Frary-Stuart Funeral Home, Tupper Lake.

Donations in Pat’s memory can be made out to the L.P. Quinn Student Assistance Fund, at L..PQuinn Elementary School, 294 Hosley Ave., Tupper Lake.
