Patricia A. (Exware) Wellspeak, 81, a retired paper inspector for 27 years for the former Strathmore Paper Company in Woronoco, passed away, Saturday, May 18, 2019 with her loving family by her side.

Born in Amsterdam, N.Y. on November 13, 1937. She was the daughter of the late David Exware and Hazel (St. Amour) Exware.

She lived in Chester for the past 50 years where she cherished spending time with family and friends, gardening, hunting and fishing with her husband Fred. She was a communicant of Holy Family Parish in Russell.

Patricia leaves her husband of 34 years, Frederick D. Wellspeak; three sons, Derek J. Friend of Chester, Marvin J. Friend of Middlefield and Stacy J. Friend of Pittsfield; three daughters, April M. Schulz of Dalton, Melodie A. Mazzaferro of Chester and Holly L. Whitaker of Westfield; four brothers, Harold Exware of Potsdam, NY, Donald Exware of Westfield, MA, Ronald Exware of Youngsville, NC and Frederick Exware of Tupper Lake; five sisters, Rita Corrow, Alice LaFlamme, Brenda Hoffman all of Tupper Lake, Cecile Lavoie of Fabius, N.Y. and Mary Jane Colvin of Tully, N.Y.; ten grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great-great grandson.

She was predeceased by her brothers, Francis Exware, Herman Exware, Eugene Exware and Roger Exware and her sisters, Janet Baker and Thelma Santerre.

A funeral mass was held on Friday, May 24 at Holy Family Parish, in Russell, MA. Burial will take place in St. Thomas Cemetery in Huntington.

Donations may be made to Hilltown Community Ambulance, 1 Bromley Road, Huntington, MA, 01050 or to the Chester Fire Department, 300 Route 20, Chester, MA 01011.

O’Brien Hilltown Community Funeral Home in Huntington will be handling the arrangements.
