Gilbert Joseph Martin, 88, passed away on Monday, May 28, 2018, at home surrounded by his family.
Gilbert was born in New Brunswick, Canada and moved to Massachusetts by himself to stay with his aunts when he was only fifteen years old.
Gilbert worked in logging camps for many years. He also owned a local shop at his home "Martin's Logging" which thrived for over twenty-five years. His daughter in law, Anne, worked alongside him
as his partner in crime for thirteen years.
The love he had for his family was endless. There was nothing better to Gilbert than visits with his children and grandchildren, giving them his utmost support, advice, and adoration.
Gilbert is survived by his devoted family, his wife, Beulah "Boo Boo" of 67 years; his sons Gary Martin, Randy Martin, Scott Martin, (Gilbert's son Glen passed away in August of 2015); his daughters Sue Arsenault and Patty Garrelts; his daughter in laws Wendy (Wilbur) Martin and Anne (Boushie) Martin, his twelve grandchildren; Erica Martin, Jaymi and Jeremy Martin, Nerissa and Benjamin Martin, Pamela (Arsenault) Griffin and Joseph Arsenault, Andrew, Mitchell, and Tyrel Martin, Mark and Taylor Garrelts; his great grandchildren Honnah Madore, Hunter and Ellie Martin, Bailey Martin, Charley Gallo, Shae Arsenault, Wyatt Martin, Lucas and Emery Martin, and Harper Garrelts, as well as three more great
grandchildren who will be born later this year. He is also survived by four sisters and two brothers.
Gilbert will be truly missed by those who knew what a wonderful man, father and grandfather he was.
