Nancy L. Rule
Nancy L. Rule, 85, of Watertown, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2025 at the Samaritan Summit Village where she had resided.
Born on December 5, 1939 in Tupper Lake, the daughter of Kenneth and Blanche (Gagnier) Lamoy, she graduated from Tupper Lake High School in 1958.
Following school she moved to Boston where she was a nanny for a year and half before training at NY Foundling Hospital from 1960-1961 to become a baby technician nurse. The next three years she worked in the nursery at Lawrence Hospital in Bronxville.
She married Henry D. Rule Jr. of Tupper Lake on October 6, 1962 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Watertown. The couple resided in Watertown.
They purchased a trailer park called Rule’s Trailer Park on Rte. 232, Rices Road.
During that time Nancy also worked at Mercy Hospital from 1962 to 1963, House of the Good Samaritan from 1963 to 1966 and was a teacher’s assistant for JRC and BOCES from 1966 to 1977.
Her husband died in 1980 and she continued to run the trailer park up until she sold it in 1995.
Nancy enjoyed doing puzzles and summering at Happy Hollow for many years.
Among her survivors are her son, Scott A. Rule, Reno, Nevada, a step son and his wife, Jeffery and Adrienne Rule, Burrville, N.Y., two sisters and two brothers in law, Walter Molinski, Hudson, N.Y., Sally and Russell Cronin, Tupper Lake and Denise Dubay, Plattsburgh, N.Y., and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Henry D. Rule, a brother and sister in law, Raymond and Eileen (Parker) Stott, a sister, Adele “2-P” Molinski, and four stepsons Robert, Stephen, Dean, and Dale Rule.
It is her wish to be cremated. A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 22nd at 11:30 a.m. at Holy Name Cemetery at the Junction in Tupper Lake.
