Chris Jock, 59

Dan McClelland

Chris Alan Jock, aged 59, of Supply, N.C., passed away on July 11, 2024 with his loving family by his side.

Born in Oakland Naval Hospital, CA on January 8, 1965, Chris moved to his parents' hometown of Tupper Lake in 1971.

He was a beloved figure known for his huge smile and striking blue eyes. Chris was celebrated for his boundless kindness and dedication to helping others, always putting the needs of his family and friends first.

After graduating from Tupper Lake Central School in 1983, Chris honorably served in the U.S. Navy Seabees as a heavy equipment operator until his accident. Chris was honorably discharged in 1986, embodying the “Can Do” spirit typical of his unit. Post-military, he found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was cheering on his favorite teams—the Raiders and the Yankees—or enjoying a thrilling NASCAR race.

Chris was a family man at heart, cherishing moments spent with his loved ones, especially his grandchildren, whose activities and achievements brought him immense pride.

He married Lisa Jedele in Shallotte, N.C. on May 5, 2007.

He is survived by his loving wife Lisa, his daughter Jessica of Texas; his mother, Gale (Shirley) of Tupper Lake; stepfather, Roger of Tupper Lake; siblings, Debi (John) Proper of Malone, John Jock (Sherry) Tupper Lake, and Rene (Matt) Jock of Massena; his loving grandchildren Penelope, Joey and Lilly of Texas and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, John, in 2009.

In accordance with his wishes, there will be no services or burial. Chris hoped that any gestures of remembrance would benefit causes close to his heart. Contributions can be made to the Disabled Veterans Association, the Seabee Historical Foundation, or to a charity of one's choice, honoring his legacy of service and compassion.
