Jeannette Neves Premo

Jeannette Neves Premo, loved by many, lost her battle with diabetes related illnesses on Saturday, May 11, 2024.

She was born on March 23, 1934 in Massena, N.Y. to Manuel and Armancia Neves. She attended local schools and graduated from Massena High School in 1952. She later graduated from the St. Lawrence School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse in 1955.

She married her high school sweetheart, David Premo, on August 6, 1955. She and David moved to Tupper Lake in 1961 where they raised their family and were active participants in many Tupper activities.

Jeannette was an active participant of the St. Alphonsus- Holy Name of Jesus Church. She loved square dancing, line dancing and dancing at any opportunity. She was a girl scout leader for downtown troops for many years. She also was a dedicated supporter of the Wild Center and many charitable foundations. She was an avid reader and knitter (she made hundreds of baby hats for the local hospital maternity ward over the years). She worked as an RN in Millington, TN at the Naval Hospital, Massena Memorial Hospital, The VA Hospital (now Sunmount DDSO) in Tupper Lake and Mercy Hospital.

Jeannette was predeceased by her parents, Manuel and Armancia, and her only brother Rene Neves (all of Massena). She is survived by and dearly loved by her husband of 68 years, David ; four children- David M.(Connie) Premo of Aiken, SC; Denise DeVirgeles, Deolinda (Greg) Jessie, and Danielle Amell (Mike Corneau); nine grand children: Monique (Premo) Waller, David C. Premo, Lindsay Premo, Melissa DeVirgeles, Emily (Jessie) Clark, Ashley (Amell) Thompson, Ray Amell, Kelsey Amell, and Mikey Corneau, 11 great grandchildren: Connie, Chris, Sophia, Charlotte, Paisley, Adalyn, Lincoln, Rylee, Brayden, Carter and Adelia; and two great great grandchildren Jameson and Aubry, as well as many nieces, nephews and good friends.

The visitation will occur on Thursday May 16, 2024 at Frary Funeral Home from 9:30am-10:30am, followed by a mass of Christian Burial at St. Alphonsus- Holy Name of Jesus Church at 11am.
