The Funeral Mass for John Amoriell, age 109, of Tupper Lake, NY, will be held on Friday, July 23, 2021, at 11 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Church. Burial will be in Holy Name Cemetery following funeral services.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, July 22, 2021, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Frary-Stuart Funeral Home, Tupper Lake. Mr. Amoriell passed away at Mercy Living Center early Wednesday morning, July 14, 2021.

John is survived by his son, Samuel Amoriell of Tupper Lake; his daughter, Annette Johnson (Peter) of Camillus, NY; two grandchildren, Mary Lou Karasek (Thomas), of Baldwinsville, N.Y., and Linda Lee (Joseph), of Minoa, N.Y.; great-grandchildren; Nicholas, Rachel, Christopher and Gavin and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brothers Patsy, Martin, Peter, James, and Frank; his sister Mary (Malerba); a grandson, Stephen Amoriell and a daughter-in-law, Gloria Amoriell.

John was born on December 31, 1911, in Tupper Lake, the son of the late Samuel and Mary (Maglione) Amoriell. John married the former Mildred Mary Exware at Holy Name Church on September 11, 1937, with the Rev. Raymond Fitzpatrick officiating. She predeceased him on August 1, 2010, after seventy-two years of marriage.

John was employed in railroad work by New York Central and later Penn Central from 1936 until his retirement in 1968. John was a member of the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees Division.

John enjoyed hunting and fishing with his son, Sam. He also enjoyed being with family and friends.
