Steven P. Woodbridge, 66, Olean, N.Y., formerly of Tupper Lake, passed away Saturday March 27, 2021 at Olean General Hospital due to complications of sepsis.

Steve was born March 15, 1955 in Tupper Lake to Robert and Betty Woodbridge.

Steve’s love of the outdoors began as a young boy and was fueled by spending time with his grandparents at Grasse River Club in Massawepie, where they were caretakers. Countless hours were spent fishing, swimming and helping out on the grounds. Steve also enjoyed his time in boy scouts with his brother Robin when their father was their scout master. Family camping trips lead to many fun times and lifelong memories.

Steven graduated from Tupper Lake High School in 1973 and was accepted into the forestry program at Paul Smiths College. He later transferred to NCCC where he graduated in 1976 with an AAS in biological technology which he put to use when he began working as a laboratory technician at Mercy General Hospital in Tupper Lake.

On June 10, 1978 Steve married the former Darlene Spoor in Tupper Lake. The marriage later ended in divorce.

Steve relocated to Stroudsburg, PA and found employment as a lab tech in East Stroudsburg.

On December 16, 1983 Anna Eskenazi and Steve were married in Stroudsburg. They would become parents to two children. The family later move back to New York State and settled in Whitesville.

Steve worked for the Town of Independence in the water department as well as being their dog warden. Upon the end of the marriage Steve moved to Olean where he was self employed as a carpenter and helped his friend Bob Howard at this funeral home.

Steven is survived by his children Danny and David Woodbridge, both of Olean, one brother, Robin (Ann) Woodbridge of Rutherfordton, NC, three sisters, Maureen (Edward) Merrill, Champlain, N.Y., Paula (David) White Massena and Lauree (Joseph) McShea of Heathsville, VA. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, his Aunt, Louann Mason of Florida and many good friends.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am Friday April 9, 2021 at Letro McIntosh Spinks Funeral Home in Olean. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to Olean Public Library 134 N 2nd St. Olean, N.Y. 14760 so others may continue enjoying one of Steve’s passions, reading. Memories may be left for the family on the funeral home’s website.

Steve’s family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Bob Howard for the friendship, love and assistance he gave so graciously to their brother.
