Lynn M. Hurteau, age 61, passed on Wednesday, March 17, 2021, at Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake. . A burial will take place at a later date in Stevens Cemetery, Skerry, NY, at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Frary-Stuart Funeral Home, Tupper Lake, NY.

Lynn is survived by her wife, Mary Ellen Lafratta Hurteau of almost 10 years; three step-children, John (Courtney) Maloney, Matthew (Jackie) Maloney, and Daniel Maloney II; two grandchildren, Ryon and Zoey; her three brothers; Wayne (Nami) Hurteau, Terry Hurteau, and Michael Hurteau; her nephew, Peter Hurteau; niece, Lisa (Joe) Keegan; five great- nieces and nephews, Jeffery K. Hurteau, Allen Hurteau, Nikaio Thomashow, Kenya Lovill, and Ryan Mulcany. Mrs. Hurteau was predeceased by her parents, Milton and Ginnie Hurteau and a nephew, Jeffery A. Hurteau.

Lynn was born on September 3, 1959, in Tupper Lake, the daughter of the late Milton James Hurteau and Virginia June Marshall.

Lynn married her wife, Mary Ellen Lafratta, on November 6, 2001 in Tupper Lake. She worked as a supervisor of NY OPWDD at Wassaic Development Center in Wassaic, N.Y.

Lynn enjoyed carpentry, playing the guitar, volunteering for the Tupper Lake Rescue Squad, being a Special Olympics Coach, being an avid bowler, softball player/ coach, and her love of dogs.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Potsdam Humane Society at 17 Madrid Ave, Potsdam, NY 13617.
