Arthur Mitchell, 83

Arthur Gabriel Mitchell, age 83, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2020, at Mercy Living Center in Tupper Lake. Arthur was born on November 24, 1937, the son of Gabriel and Theda Austin Mitchell. As per Arthur’s request, there will be no services. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Frary-Stuart Funeral Home, Tupper Lake.

Arthur graduated from Tupper Lake High School in 1955. He married Patricia Gauthier on December 26, 1960. They made their home in Tupper Lake where they raised their four children. Arthur drove logging trucks in the area and was a member of the Teamsters Union. He drove for Anchor Motor Freight for several years. He also worked for various road construction companies in the North Country.

Arthur enjoyed working on and owning many old vehicles. He was an avid Nascar and NFL fan. He was a loving father and grandfather who enjoyed being with his family.

Arthur is survived by his ex-spouse, Patricia Mitchell, three daughters; Melissa Mitchell, of Tupper Lake, Amy Lavigne, of Crystal River, FL, and Lorri Beaudette, of Tupper Lake; seven grandchildren; Madeson, Adam, Dillon, Sarah, Chris, Mike and Katelynn and seven great grandchildren;. One sister-in-law, Janet Hodge and several nieces and nephews. Arthur is predeceased by his parents, Gabriel and Theda Mitchell, his son, David Mitchell and his brother Steven Mitchell.
