Karen Lee Coffman, 74

Karen Lee Coffman, 74, of Tupper Lake, passed away October 18, 2020 at her house surrounded by family. Visitation will be held at Frary- Stuart Funeral Home in Tupper Lake, Sunday October 25, 2020 from 1-3p.m. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Frary- Stuart Funeral Home.

Karen was born September 30, 1946 in Tupper Lake to Raymond LaFave and Beatrice Mary Mae King. Karen graduated from Tupper Lake High School in 1964. She opened Rebels Video in uptown Tupper Lake where she worked for years. Karen enjoyed knitting, crochet, gathering with friends for coffee, and bingo. Karen loved coloring pictures for her walls.

Karen is survived by her ex-husband Matthew Haywood Sr.; two sons, Danny Mecklenburg II and Matthew Haywood Jr.; three daughters, Jackie Lynn Denny, Kelly Mecklenburg, and Angela Jean Haywood; two brothers, Bruce and Randy LaFave; sister Wendy LaFave; many grandchildren and great- grandchildren; and her cat Gizzy.

Karen is pre-deceased by her parents Raymond and Beatrice LaFave; son Darrell Mecklenburg; and her brother Gene “Barrel” LaFave.

Karen was loved by many. The family would like to thank Tiger for her help the last year in taking care of Karen. “We love you, Tiger.” Donations can be made in Karen’s name to the American Cancer Society.
