George T. Robinson, age 72, of Tupper Lake, passed away on Friday night, November 29, 2019 at the University of Vermont in Burlington, VT. Per his wishes, there will be no services at this time. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Frary-Stuart Funeral Home, Tupper Lake.

George was born on July 1, 1947 in Canton, NY, the son of George and Marian Summers Robinson. He graduated from Tupper Lake High School in 1966.

He then joined the Army in September of that same year and served until 1969.

Soon after, George met Marie Rice and the two were married on July 10, 1970 at Holy Name Church in Tupper Lake. He first went to work for J & L Steel in Fine.. He then started two bars in Tupper Lake, the Elite and the Weekender. After selling the businesses, he went to work as a guard at FCI Raybrook for twenty-three years before retiring as a general manager.

After retirement, George worked at Tupper Lake Supply for an additional thirteen years.

George is survived by his wife, Marie Robinson; one son, George Robinson Jr., and his wife Renee of Peru, NY; one granddaughter, Savannah Robinson of Inverness, FL; a brother, James Robinson, and his wife, Linda, of Baldwinsville, NY; two sisters, Robin Kirkpatrick, and her husband, Mike, of Annapolis, MN, and Kimberly Hissong of Canton, NY; and his step-mother, Beverly Robinson of Canton, NY.

George enjoyed building and puttering and spending his time outdoors hunting and fishing. He was also a member of the American Legion and a Life Member of the VFW.
