Nelson Robideau, age 80, of Tupper Lake, passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family after a long illness. As per his request, there will be no services. Burial will take place in the spring in Lake View Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Frary-Stuart Funeral Home, Tupper Lake.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Robideau, of Tupper Lake; his sons Daryl Robideau, and his wife, Diane, of Tupper Lake, and Eric Robideau, and his wife, Kathie, of Moores, NY; his granddaughters, Nocloe, of North Carolina, Jessica, of Arizona; his grandson, Eric James of Louisiana; and great grandson, Damian of Arizona; his brothers, James (Chappy) Robideau of Montana, and Rodney Robideau, of Arizona. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, Nelson and Effie Robideau; his daughter Cynthia Robideau; his sister, Jane Thivirge, and his brothers, Richard Robideau and Neil Robideau.

Nelson was born on December 28, 1938 in Tupper Lake, N.Y., the son of Nelson and Effie Bradley Robideau. He graduated from Tupper Lake High School. Nelson married Mary Lou Dufraine on February 18, 1961 at the Presbyterian Church in Tupper Lake. He worked as a Carpenter Superintendent for local 1219 in Arizona, building power plants, dams, new housing construction, and freeway concrete work. After retiring in 1999, Nelson moved back to Tupper Lake and began building furniture, glider-rockers, and clocks.
