A celebration of life took place at 4p.m. at the Tupper Lake Christian Center. There was a reception following the services at the Knights of Columbus hall. Nathen was born on November 26, 1983 at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake, son of Gale Vallier and Jeffery Strack.

Nathen was a sports enthusiast and in his junior year of high school he found his niche in running track. As an anchor, he still holds the record for the 4 by 4 and 4 by 1 at TLHS. Nathen was selected MVP two years in a row. He was a big fan of the Rangers and the Raiders and followed them passionately.

Nathen also proudly became an Adirondack 46'er by age 16. His 46'er number is #4640.

Nathen is survived by his loving mother Gale Valliere and Gales' partner Scott Seiffert of Tupper Lake and Nathen's father Jeff Strack of Glens Falls, N.Y. He also leaves behind his fiancee Rene Denis and their five beautiful children, twins Colin and Alaina age 10, Madison, age 7, Sadie age 5, and Hailey, age 4. Along with Renees' oldest son Austin Fortier and Nathen's sister of his heart Valerie Seiffert. Also he is survived by his Aunt Rita (Valliere) Gosselin from Keene, NY, Sheila (Strack) and Curt Poirer from North Carolina, Theresa Strack and Howard Malloy from Florida, Shyamala Strack from Georgia, Tracey and Greta Strack from Virginia.

In heaven, Nathen will be with his namesake and uncle, PFC Stephen Valliere who was killed in action in Vietnam in 1966, his grandmothers, Mary Strack who died in 1986 and Lena Monroe Valliere, and his Uncle Larry Strack who passed away in 2017. Nathen also had a very special bond with his grandfathers, Paul Strack who predeceased him in 2014, and Donat Valliere. Nathen referred to his grandfather as his hero, mentor and aspired to be like him. Paul adored him as well.

Those wishing to make a memorial contribution in Nathen's name are encouraged to consider St. Joseph's Rehabilitation Center in Saranac Lake, NY or the Tupper Lake Christian Center.
