Lonnie Stephen LaFave, 47
Lonnie Stephen LaFave of Neodesha, KS passed away unexpectedly on August 14, 2018 at the age of 47.
He was born on June 17 1971, the son of Stephen and Darlene (Pickering) LaFave.
He attended Tupper Lake Central schools. Later he worked as a mechanic for Leroy’s Auto Sales before moving to Kansas where he worked in multiple facets of the concrete business.
He is survived by three children- Stephen, Alisha and Rilee LaFave, all of Kansas. He is also survived by his mother Darlene LaFave, sister Sonya Wells and brother in law Jeffrey Wells of Tupper Lake, brother Ryan LaFave and sister in law Ashley LaFave of Washougal, WA and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was predeceased by his father Steve; paternal grandparents Francis and Yvonne LaFave; maternal grandparents Clarence and Lila Pickering.
Lonnie was a passionate hunter and fisherman, spending his happiest moments at the river or walking for miles in the woods hunting- sharing his enthusiasm for nature with his daughter Rilee as she spent countless hours by his side.
Lonnie’s passing has left a hole in the hearts of his family and friends who will always remember his infectious laughter, smile and the uncanny ability to master everything he attempted in life.
Burial will take place at St Alphonsus Cemetery along with a Celebration of Life at a later date once his family receives his remains as his wishes were to return home to his beloved Adirondack Mountains.
