Blanche Marie LeBlanc
Blanche Marie LeBlanc, 92, a long-time resident of Tupper Lake from 1949 to 2009, and an eight year resident of Hudson Pointe at Riverdale Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation, Bronx, N.Y, died peacefully on March 15,2018.
Blanche was born in Sawyerville, Quebec, Canada on December 16, 1925 to parents Oliver and Yvonne Laroche. She immigrated to the U.S. with her parents and brothers and sisters in the mid 1940's.
She married Francis Paul LeBlanc of Tupper Lake in August, 1950 who died in 1994. She is survived by her loving daughter, Jeanne M. LeBlanc and son-in -law, Joseph Rivera of Yonkers, N.Y., loving sister Mary Jane Straub of Tupper Lake, and many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
Blanche was employed by Sunmount Development Center for 20 years. In addition, many in the community benefited from Blanche's remarkable talents in tailoring and creative dressmaking, especially bridal dresses, adult and children's clothing, and doll clothes. In her retirement, she expressed her creativity through several crafts.
There will be no services. Cremation has taken place. Memorial gatherings will take place in the summer as well as Masses to be announced. Memorial donations may be made to the Tupper Lake Rescue Squad and Tri-lakes Hospice.
