Harvey S. Tebo Jr., 90, of Tupper Lake, New York passed away March 24, 2017.
Harvey was born in Tupper Lake on August 6, 1926 to Edith Dominie and Harvey Tebo Sr. Harvey was one of the last surviving members of the undefeated Tupper Lake football team of 1944. He served in the US Army in the Philippines during World War II. Harvey played hockey and football at Clarkson University.
On October 10, 1953, Harvey married MaryAnn Gagnier of Tupper Lake. They had three children: John, Jim, and Mary Beth. Harvey served as the Postmaster of Tupper Lake for 25 years. He was the Secretary/Treasurer of the National Association of Postmasters and served on the Board of Education for the Tupper Lake School District.
Harvey is predeceased by his parents, sisters Katherine Bump and Mercile Forkey, and brother William Tebo. He is survived by his sister Irene Gravlin of Tupper Lake, children John Tebo of Cincinnati, Jim Tebo and his wife Lisa of Tupper Lake, and Mary Beth Rust and her husband John of Tupper Lake, and his grandchildren Kelsey Tebo Baker and her husband Seth of New Orleans, and Isabella Rust of Tupper Lake.There will be no calling hours. The burial will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Wild Center in Harvey’s name.
