Tupper Lake Field Day cancelled for rec dept. to focus on Fourth

The Town of Tupper Lake Recreation announced the following statement this week, regarding the annual Tupper Lake Field Day.

“After careful consideration, the Town of Tupper Lake Recreation Department has made the decision to cancel Tupper Lake Field Day 2026 the theme of which was ‘Christmas in July”.

“This decision was not made lightly. Several factors influenced the change, including limited labor resources, financial considerations and organizational capacity. As we continue to evaluate how to best utilize available resources, we believe this shift presents an exciting opportunity for our community.

“Rather than hosting Tupper Lake Field Day this year, the recreation department will be focusing our efforts on celebrating America's 250th Birthday on July 4, 2026.

“We are proud to collaborate with the Village of Tupper Lake and Tupper Arts in support of a community-wide celebration of America's 250th Birthday. In addition to the festivities at Flanders Park and the Bandshell—including vendors, food, live music, fireworks, and more—the town will organize a community parade that morning for residents and visitors of all ages to enjoy.

“By combining our efforts and resources, we hope to create a memorable and meaningful celebration that brings our entire community together in recognition of this historic milestone.

“We understand that many residents and visiting vendors look forward to Tupper Lake Field Day each year, and we appreciate your continued support and understanding. We encourage everyone to join us on July 4th as we celebrate our nation's 250th anniversary and showcase the spirit, pride, and community that make Tupper Lake such a special place.

“Additional details regarding the parade, entertainment, vendors, and activities will be announced by respective organizations as plans are finalized.”
