Janet Rita Roberts

Janet Rita Roberts, a devoted wife and loving mother, passed away peacefully at Mercy Nursing Home in Tupper Lake on June 14th, 2026, with her husband by her side.

Janet was born September 23, 1948 to the late Alfred and Rita Bombard (Frechette) in Tupper Lake. She graduated from Holy Ghost Academy in 1966.

Janet retired from the Tupper Lake National Bank in 2009 as a head teller. She was a devoted Catholic serving as a Eucharistic Minister at St Alphonsus Church.

Known for her warm, rich heart and community ties Janet filled her life and lives of those around her with joyfulness and enthusiasm. Janet was a devoted wife who supported her husband and family. She loved to read, cook, bake and spend time with her family. She enjoyed walking and going to Zumba with her friends.

She also enjoyed and looked forward to her annual trips to New York City or Michigan with her daughter-in-law.

Janet's pastime was cooking and baking and there was never a holiday that went by where she didn't bake something from scratch or have a fresh batch of holiday treats.

Whenever there was a bake sale at the high school all the grades wanted her to make her famous magic cookie bars.

Janet was the mother that never missed a single sporting event whether it was on the football field or basketball court or golf course she was there supporting her son.

On September 3, 1966 Janet married Wayne Roberts of Tupper Lake. They were married for 59 years but the courtship started back in the eighth grade.

Janet is survived by her husband, Wayne, her son Michael (Ellie) as well as nieces and nephews: Kiarra, Kaylee, Brittney, Keegan, Kolin, and Tiffany.

Janet was predeceased by her parents and her siblings James Bombard, Jeanne Crubaugh (Bombard) and Joseph Bombard.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, June 22, 2026 at 11a.m. at St. Alphonsus Church with burial to follow in St. Alphonsus Cemetery.
