Pamela “Penny” Young, 78

Pamela (Penny) Beaudette Young, born on March 29, 1945, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2024, with family by her side at the Adirondack Medical Center.
Pamela was the child of Albert and Geraldine (Lalonde) Beaudette. The first of thirteen children, whom she helped her mother care for during her childhood years.
Penny attended Tupper Lake High School. She then married Leonard F Young, II in 1964 and they homed in Tupper Lake. Len passed away in 2012 due to cancer.
Penny was a hands-on mother to her children, Leonard (Peanut), Tina and Debbie. Once the children were older, Penny worked in Mercy Healthcare Center nursing home as an Aide until her retirement. After her retirement, she was always there to help her children by caring for grandchildren. Her selfless act will be forever loved.
Penny lived a quiet life, enjoying visits from her siblings, Susie/Ken Herman, Jean/Gary Heart, Sherman (deceased)/Patricia Beaudette, Richard/Sherry Beaudette, Katherine/Michael Gaudette, Lawrence Beaudette, Robert/Christine Beaudette, Jerry/Denise Beaudette, Ronald/Stacey Mallet, Paul/Sharon Beaudette, Joseph Beaudette and Michael/Jean Beaudette (both deceased).
Her parents, Albert and Geraldine (Lalonde) Beaudette predeceased her.
Surviving is her children Leonard/Christine (Staves) Young and Tina/Thomas Vaillancourt. Penny’s youngest daughter, Debbie passed away in 2004 after her battle with cancer.
Penny is survived by her grandchildren William and his partner Dee Gillette. Vanessa Vaillancourt and her partner Shawn Bell. Corey, Megan and Jordan (Tino) Young and his partner Sarah Robinson. Chad St. Louis and his partner Alisha Dukett. Derek, Dustin and Brittney Miller.
Penny is also survived by her great- grandchildren; Kody and Tyler Vaillancourt, Braylynn, William and Gabe Bell, Tailor Whitson, Blake, Quinton, Sullivan and Ella Young. Carter, Taven, DebbieAnn Miller and Walkyr St. Louis. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Penny’s dear friend, Debbie Miller, helped Penny in her final days and her care and kindness will always be remembered.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made in Penny's name to the Tupper Lake Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 901, Tupper Lake NY. The family will have a graveside service on May 10th at 11a.m. A celebration of life will be held following the service.
