Audrey North Griffin Gravelle, 88

Mrs. Audrey North Griffin Gravelle, 88, of Conifer passed away peacefully on Friday, March 17, 2023 at Saranac Lake Hospital.

She was born in Conifer to the late John W Gravelle and Rosebell North on March 24 24, 1934. She was preceded in death by her late husband’s Francis Griffin and Donald Gravelle, her grandson Nathan Brambell and sisters Gwendolyn North Snye Shumway and Minnie North Cornell.

She was a graduate of Tupper Lake High School and attended Tupper Lake Baptist Chapel. Audrey was a member of the Piercefield Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, the Eastern Stars, and was also a member of a bowling league. She was formally employed at Mercy Hospital and A&P Supermarket.

Those left to cherish her memory are her three daughters, Jackie (Arthur) Benjamin of Conifer, Rhoda (Theodore) Starzyk of Stanfordville, N.Y. and Laura (Darrin) Brambell of Montreal, Canada. Also surviving are three brothers, Haile North, Raymond North and John W. North as well as one sister, Fern Rust, all of Conifer.

She leaves behind 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren who were the light of her life.

There will be no services with a private burial at a later time at Gale Cemetery.
