Beverly Whaley

Beverly Whaley died from Pancreatic Cancer on January 31, 2023. She was born in Detroit, Michigan. After living in eight states, she found her true home in the Adirondacks.

Bev’s focus was always on the “other” and not herself. The most important thing in her life was the immeasurable love for family and friends. Over and again family members would mention how her intentional kindness was a model for them.

Second only to her love of others was her amazement for God’s creation that surrounded her home.

WHEN DESPAIR FOR THE WORLD GROWS IN ME

AND I AWAKE IN THE NIGHT AT THE LEAST SOUND

IN FEAR OF WHAT MY LIFE AND MY CHILDREN’S LIVES MAY BE,

I GO AND LIE DOWN WHERE THE WOOD DRAKE RESTS IN HIS BEAUTY ON THE WATER, AND THE GREAT HERON FEEDS.

I COME INTO THE PEACE OF WILD THINGS WHO DO NOT TAX THEIR LIVES WITH FORETHOUGHT OF GRIEF,

I COME INTO THE PRESENCE OF STILL WATER.

AND I FEEL ABOVE ME THE DAY-BLIND STARS WAITING FOR THE LIGHT.

FOR A TIME I REST IN THE GRACE OF THE WORLD,

She is survived by her husband, Ross; three children, Heather, Susan and Lindsay and their spouses; eight grandchildren, Wesley, Megan, Blake, Hannah, Cora, Duncan Hope and Austin and their spouses; great grandchild, Tupper; and beloved nieces and nephews Kirstin, Melanie, Dan and Steve and their families.
