Robert “Budd” Russell, age 90, passed away Tuesday, August 16th.
He was the son of Harold and Emma Pearl (Egglestone) Russell, born in Malone, N.Y. on October 2, 1931.
He is survived by his wife Joanne, son John (Sandy) Russell from New Jersey, Tim (Barb) Russell from Ohio, Kathy (Keith) Lanthier from Albany, N.Y., Angie (Shawn) Butler from Rome, N.Y. and Spencer (Audrey) Russell from Indiana, brother Earl (Chum) Russell and sister Janis Werner both from Farmington N.Y., several stepchildren, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Budd was predeceased by his daughter Dori Rachel Russell, wives Evelyn Lewis and Joan LaLonde, brothers Gerald (Jerry), James (Jim) and Patrick (Pat) and sister Barbara and grandson Jake Lanthier.
He grew up in Conifer and was likely to be found hunting, fishing, camping or walking in the woods surrounding the town during his adult life. He was an avid card player – a formidable bridge player – and he entertained everyone with mastery of card tricks and dad jokes. His other passion was dancing – winning contests with his spouses and dancing with his great granddaughters.
He was an active Moose club member, volunteering his time to bar-b-que for the members and families, rising to the status of a Pilgrim member.
Calling hours were noon to 2 on Monday the 22 at Frary Funeral Home followed by mass at St. Alphonsus Church. Burial followed at St. Alphonsus Cemetery.
