Eva Mae (Burke) Lamoy, 95
Eva Mae (Burke) Lamoy, 95 years young, was reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, Frosty (Forrest), on Friday, May 27, 2022. She passed away peacefully in her home with family by her side.
Eva was born on November 27, 1926 in Hermon N.Y., the daughter of Hilda and Floyd Burke.
In January 1951, she married Frosty in Tahawus, and their union celebrated 58 years before his passing in 2009.
Frosty and Eva moved to Long Lake in 1960 to raise their family. Eva loved the Town of Long Lake, enjoying the outdoors and wonderful home life.
Eva was an avid gardener and spent many hours caring lovingly for her many flowers. She was a member of St. Henry’s Catholic Church, where she volunteered with her many talents and celebrated her 61st year as a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. Her favorite pastimes included day trips to many sites throughout New York State, long walks no matter the weather and dining out with friends followed by Sunday afternoon card playing.
Eva was a pillar of the community and will be missed by many. The family thanks her special friends Trudy Hooker, Lorrie Hosley, Barbara Hutchins, Helen Kentile, and Luzerne Rockwell for their caring and kindness given to Eva over many years. Special appreciation to Dr. Russell Rider and staff of the Long Lake Medical Center and the High Peaks Hospice staff for their compassionate care of Eva.
She leaves behind on earth, her two daughters Marie (Michael) Arsenault, Kathleen (Jeffrey) Kelly, and her son, Timothy (Jean) Lamoy. Also remaining behind are seven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her parents, her husband Frosty, a daughter-in-law JoAnne Lamoy, and a granddaughter Julie Arsenault.
Visitation hour will be held on Thursday, June 2 at St Henry’s Church, 1187 Main Street, Long Lake, NY from 10 to 11 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11a.m. followed by interment in Long Lake Cemetery.
Eva drew great strength and comfort from St Henry’s Church, so please consider in lieu of flowers a donation in her name.
