Dan McClelland

Louella H. (Clark) LaClair, age 87, born May 25, 1935, of Tupper Lake, the daughter of George P. and Lila J. Clark, passed away peacefully on Nov 5, 2022 with her family by her side.

Louella is pre-deceased by her husbands Luke LaClair and Frank Morrison, her sister Georgia Vaughan, brother Tom Clark, grandson Ryan Riley and great-grandson Deegan Crary.

She is survived by her brother George W. Clark of Tupper Lake.

She was an amazing mother to Glen Gignac of Tupper Lake, Cindy Crary (husband Andy) of Gabriels and Patti Helmer (husband Cliff) of Fulton, N.Y.

She is survived by six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and one great- great grandchild. She loved all of her step children, step grand-children and step great grand-children with all her heart! Loved dearly by her nieces and nephews and the many people of Tupper Lake. And also, Laurie Dukette, her care giver and awesome friend… Thank you, Laurie!!!

Louella was the most caring and devoted Catholic. She was a Eucharistic Minister for many years and brought Communion to all that could not attend mass.

She was a volunteer at the nursing home and a foster grandparent at L.P. Quinn Elementary where she cherished all the children! She was a competitive card player with her friends and sister, she loved cleaning her house, gardening, drinking red wine with her brother on her deck, giving bones to all the dogs that passed her home, and she loved to hug and kiss everyone and being with her family. She was always up for a party and a good time! She loved her nickname “Two Chains!”

Say her children, “Our mother loved unconditionally and everyone who met her could contest to that! She will be greatly missed by everyone and will never be forgotten. Her smile was amazing!”

Visiting hours will be Thursday, November 10 from 4 to 6p.m. at Frary Funeral home and a church mass will be at noon on Friday, November 11 at St. Alphonsus Church at 48 Wawbeek Ave., Tupper Lake. A Celebration of Life will be at the VFW post in Tupper Lake at 1:30p.m.
