John M. Fuller, 88

Dan McClelland

Fuller, John.jpg

John M. “Jack” Fuller, 88, passed away at his home on Monday, September 6, 2021 after a long illness.

Jack was born on November 11, 1932, the son of Harold and Anita (Bedore) Fuller.

He grew up in the Junction neighborhood of Tupper Lake and was a 1951 graduate of Tupper Lake High School. Jack was a member of the undefeated 1948 Lumberjack football team, and was later inducted into the TLHS Athletic Hall of Fame.

After high school, Jack was drafted into the United States Army and served at the end of the Korean War. Following service, he returned to Tupper Lake and was married to the former Dorothy LaPointe on May 22, 1955.

Jack spent a 35-year career working for the Village of Tupper Lake in several different capacities, eventually retiring as foreman of the Electric Department. He also spent 17 years as a member of the local volunteer fire department.

In his leisure time, Jack enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a fixture at several local clubs, including Robinwood Park and Township 19. An entertaining storyteller, he enjoyed telling tales of the Junction of his youth and its many interesting residents and events.

Jack is predeceased by his parents and wife of 60 years.

He is survived by his daughter Marcy (Dean) LaVigne and son Marty (Laurie) Fuller, both of this village. He was fortunate enough to have five grandchildren: Donnie Hachey, Zachary LaVigne, Amande Lizotte and Lexie and Nicole Fuller.

He also had four great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Hachey, and Jeannelle, Maddox and Everett Lizotte.

There will be no funeral or calling hours. A private graveside ceremony will take place for the family at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jack’s memory to High Peaks Hospice.
