Dan McClelland

LaPierre, Daniel.jpg

Daniel James LaPierre, 34, of Tupper Lake passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at his home. Graveside service will be held at Holy Name Cemetery this Saturday, August 7 at 11:30 a.m.

Dan is survived by his parents, Brian and Mary LaPierre, his sister and brother-in-law: Shannon Kavanagh and PJ Kavanagh with their children Andrew and Charlotte, his grandmother, Helen Farnsworth of Wilbraham Massachusetts, his love, Melissa Ford LaPierre and their three beautiful children: Cailan, Anjaylin and Alexander.

Dan was predeceased by his grandparents: Robert and Rena LaPierre of Tupper Lake and Norman Farnsworth of Wilbraham, Massachusetts and his nephew, Philip Norman Kavanagh.

Growing up in Tupper Lake, Dan was a proud “Lumberjack” who loved football, weightlifting and art. After graduation, Dan enlisted in the United States Navy and served as a Gunner’s Mate. When he was honorably discharged, his services didn’t stop there. He came back to his roots where he looked for ways to help others and the community that he loved so much. Through his pursuits, he became a CNA working at Mercy Healthcare and was in the process of obtaining a degree in counseling.

In all areas of Dan’s life, his focus was helping others, going above and beyond for those in need. He was an exceptional friend who was always willing to lend an ear, offer advice and crack a joke to cheer someone up. Dan was a loving son and brother, and a devoted father. More than anything else in life, he loved his children. They are his greatest accomplishment and love. Dan was a caring, selfless man who blessed anyone who was lucky enough to know him. He will be truly missed.

Dan’s family has asked that anyone wanting to make a donation in his name consider a gift to the VFW of Tupper Lake at 196 Park St. Tupper Lake, NY 12986, and the Tupper Lake Rescue Squad at 169 Main St. Tupper Lake, NY 12986.
