A Funeral Mass for Roland LaBarge, age 93, of Tupper Lake, NY, will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2021, at 1p.m. at St. Alphonsus Church with Rev. Clement Rimonds officiating. Burial will follow in Holy Name Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2021, from 11a.m. to 12:30p.m. at Frary-Stuart Funeral Home, Tupper Lake.

Mr. LaBarge passed away on Saturday night, May 15, 2021, at Mercy Living Center.

He is survived by his step-daughter, Susan Fuller-Bombard, of Fort Pierce, FL; a step- son, Jim Fuller, of Tupper Lake; a step-grandson, Kirk Roberts and his wife, Luisa, of Fort Pierce, FL and a niece, Rosemary Morrow and her husband, Eddie, of Tupper Lake.

He is predeceased by his parents, William and Isabelle LaBarge; his wife, Reta LaBarge; his siblings, Eva Savage, Homer LaBarge, Lena Villeneuve, Napoleon “Nap” LaBarge, Henry LaBarge, Leo LaBarge, Rita Merchant, Edna Degone, Leon LaBarge, Emmaline Schiavone, Jeannette Bourdage, and Mary LaBarge; and a step-sister, Minnie Payment.

Roland was born on August 4, 1927 in Faust, New York, the son of William E. and Isabelle M. Amell LaBarge. He attended local schools in Tupper Lake, NY.

Roland married Reta Elizabeth Powers in April of 1970 in Albany, NY.

He enlisted in the United States Navy from 1944 to 1946 in the Pacific in the Gunnery Division aboard the Bellawood Aircraft Carrier. He then went to work for Anchor Freight and later owned and operated Pine Grove Restaurant with his wife, Reta Labarge. Later in life, he worked with a local logging company owned by Jeanelle Lizotte.

As a younger man, Roland enjoyed flying small planes in the local area. He also loved spending time with his dog, Tuffy.
