Nileland A. Wood, 93, passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2020 at the Wesley Health Care Center in Saratoga Springs, New York.
He was born December 2, 1926 to Marshall and Hattie Wood.
He was drafted into the Army in 1945 and served as a medic until March 1947.
Nileland was an outdoorsman. He loved working in his yard, traveling through wooded areas and visiting the St. Lawrence Seaway.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers Howard, Floyd, Marshall Jr., Jaye, and Walter and one sister Delberta.
Mr. Wood lived in Tupper Lake for three years with close friends Danny Ott and Sharon Dukette and made many friends here and in Saranac Lake and Keene where he went for his dialysis.
He will be buried at Gerald B.H. Soloman Saratoga National Cemetery in Saratoga.
Due to the COVID-19 there will be no services.
