Lanthier, Wilma Margarite, 88

Wilma Margarite Lanthier passed away peacefully on April 17, 2020 with family by her side at the Cabana at Jensen Beach Florida Assisted Living Facility.

Born in Tupper Lake on May 5, 1931 Wilma was the daughter of Edna and William Leroux. Wilma attended the Holy Ghost Academy and graduated in the class of 1950.

On July 29, 1951 she was married here to Joseph Edgar Lanthier who predeceased her on April 17, 1986.

Wilma was a member of St. Alphonsus Church while living in Tupper Lake until 1993. Wilma moved to Albany, N.Y. and lived with her son Keith until 2001. She then moved to Port St. Lucie, Florida and lived with her son Bill until 2018 when she moved to the Cabana at Jensen Beach. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, reading, working on crossword puzzles, boating and fishing. She also watched sports and followed the Yankees and the Patriots.

She loved spending as much time as she could with her family and is survived by her three sons, Keith and Kathy, Albany, Bill and Lisa, Port St. Lucie Fl. and David and Mary, Staatsburg N.Y. She is also survived by her sisters Ann Cheney, Perth, N.Y., Eileen House, Johnstown, N.Y. and Denise and Phil Benware, Gloversville, N.Y. and her brother Bill and Leda Leroux, Niagara Falls N.Y.

In addition she is also survived by her grandchildren and great grandchildren, Nicholas and Dorothy (Zayden, Danica, Nicco, DJ), Scott and Ashley (Haley, Payton, SJ), Eric and Kait (Lily), Sam and Shelby, Sarah an Jerry (William), Jacob and Samantha and Emily and Alex (Calvin).

A memorial service will be held and announced at a later date. Wilma will be interned beside her husband in the St. Alphonsus Cemetery in Tupper Lake, NY at that time.
