Keith Gregory Clement of Tupper Lake passed away peacefully at his home Thursday, May 7th, 2020. He was born May 4, 1947 the son of Wilfred (Buck) and Ruth (White) Clement.

Keith attended local schools and worked on the Lanthier family farm during his high school years.

After graduating in 1965, Keith went onto college but after a short time, he decided to join the war effort and enlisted in the US Army, serving from 1966-1968;

He was initially assigned to a motor pool detail but was enlisted to drive tractor trailers, hauling fuel for the Army throughout Germany.

After completing his military stint, Keith returned state side and worked for some local contractors before eventually going to work for New York State as an aide in 1970.

Keith worked his way into supervision and served for 32 years, retiring in 2002 at the age of 55.

At Keith’s request, there will be no calling hours and he will be interned at St. Alphonsus cemetery with full military honors, at a later date. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Frary-Stuart Funeral Home.

Keith was a very kind and generous soul; he was humble and well liked. He was always willing to lend a hand, in various ways, to anyone in need. Keith enjoyed the retired life and loved wood working, gardening, camping, fishing and tinkering with just about anything. He loved learning new things and was very creative. He had even purchased the equipment and taught himself the skill of welding. He took pride in helping maintain the family property. He had good carpentry skills and put them to good use often, He was helpful to his family and friends in many ways and will be dearly missed. He was an avid race fan (NASCAR) and often traveled to the regional dirt tracks to attend local events. He enjoyed dining out regularly with his sister Joan, at the local restaurants.

Keith is survived by his only daughter, Laurie Teater of Madison, N.Y., two sisters, Barbara (George) Hafford of Tennessee and Joan Demers of Tupper Lake. two brothers, Brian of Tennessee, and Terry of Tupper Lake. His former wife Joan Clark of Herkimer, N.Y. also survives, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Keith was pre-deceased by his parents (Wilfred and Ruth) as well as four other siblings: Sherwood Clement, Sally Given, Rolland Clement and Kirby Clement.
