George Richard Reandeau, 72, of Indian, Alaska, formerly of Tupper Lake passed away peacefully among loved ones on Sunday, December 29, 2019.

Born February 28, 1947 to Augusta and Lawrence Reandeau.

He is survived by his wife, Gay Lee Erickson Reandeau of Indian, Alaska, three step daughters, Michelle Kinsey, Cassie Prall Smith and Faline Prall, all of Anchorage, Alaska; two brothers, Larry Reandeau and his wife, Sheila, John Reandeau, two sisters; Donna Reandeau Boucher and Toni Reandeau Boushie, all of Tupper Lake and one niece, and five nephews.

He was predeceased by his mother, Augusta Reandeau, his father, Lawrence Reandeau and his step father, Howard Reandeau.

George graduated from Tupper Lake High School and enlisted in the US Army where he served six years of active duty. He was a Green Beret Special Forces with the 82nd Airborne.

George moved to Alaska in 1980, where he made his home and began to fullfill his dreams. He married Gay Lee Erickson on November 18, 1996. He worked with the Alternative Career Education Program at the Anchorage School District as a special education teacher for thirty years. He worked as Captain of the Ptarmigan at Portage Glacier Tours for 12 years. He also worked as a Motor Coach operator for Holland America Tours, where he made every ride a tour to remember.

George loved life and lived it to its fullest. He loved his family, near and far, he loved Alaska, the Adirondacks, music, camping, fishing, hiking and hunting.

A celebration of life will be announced by family in the spring. He will be truly missed by all.
