Michael J. Hosley, Sr., age 76, passed away peacefully at Albany Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, April 18, 2019.

He was born on September 30, 1942 in Tupper Lake, New York to Roy W. and Mary B. (Morris) Hosley. Michael attended Long Lake Central School, graduating in 1960. On May 6, 1967 he married Nancy Rose DeMars. Together, they had two wonderful children.

Mike worked hard all his life, first at Harrington’s Garage, where he met Nancy, the love of his life. He then worked for a number of years at Snide’s Fuel Service. Mike later took a job with the Hamilton County Highway Department, retiring as Foreman after 30 years of service.

Mike was a warm-hearted man who always put his family first. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. They feel blessed to have had a kind man like him, always smiling and making them laugh.

Mike was also a man of his community, volunteering for the fire department in his youth, and later serving as a Board Member of the Friends of the Long Lake Library. He also enjoyed coaching tee-ball and working with the Cub Scouts.

Left to honor Michael and remember his love are his beloved wife of 52 years, Nancy, son Jamie (Alta), daughter Hope (Steve), and three grandchildren, Ainsley, Ella, and Jonah.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at noon at Saint Henry’s Catholic Church, 1188 Main Street, Long Lake, NY. The family will greet friends in the Parrish Center from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm. Burial will follow at the Long Lake Cemetery.

The Hosleys would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at the Albany Medical Center, specifically those in the Surgical ICU for their attentiveness and loving care. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Michael’s name to the Long Lake Rescue Squad. Online condolences may be made at www.stuartfortunekeoughfuneralhome.com.
