Robert Drew, age 82, of Tupper Lake, passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2019 at Elderwood of Uihlein Living Center in Lake Placid surrounded by his loved ones. There will be no calling hours per his request. A graveside service will take place in the spring at Holy Name Cemetery.

Robert is survived by his significant other, Beverly Sauvie; his son, Kevin Drew, of Queensbury, NY; three sisters, Shirley Bailey, and her husband, Joe, of Plattsburgh, NY, Gloria Demars, and her husband, Clifford, of Long Lake, and Linda Rolley, and her husband, Curtis, of Tupper Lake; one brother, Gordon Drew and his companion, Kim, of Edwards, NY; Beverly’s children, Ron Sauvie and his wife Deb, and Amy Jenkins and her husband, Lee, both of Tupper Lake; and her grandsons, Mitch Tyler, of Plattsburgh, and Lee Jenkins, Jr., of St. Albans, Vermont; and many nieces and nephews.

Robert was born on February 21, 1937 in Tupper Lake, the son of Victor and Viola Oshier Drew. He attended Faust Elementary and Tupper Lake High School, later receiving his GED while in the service.

Robert joined the Air Force on January 9, 1956. He completed basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. From there he went to police school at Parks Air Base in California. After four years of active duty, he was honorably discharged in 1960, followed by two years in reserves.

After the service, he first went to work for Jamestown Hardwood, Draper Corporation and later for the Village of Tupper Lake as a laborer until retiring in 1982.

He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed deer hunting and fishing. His true enjoyment came from rabbit hunting with his two beagle dogs, Molly and Misty.
