Charles N. “Skip” Annette Jr., age 77, of Prospect Street, passed away Friday, Sept. 7, 2018 with his wife and daughters at his side after a long illness.
Born Jan. 2, 1941 in Tupper Lake, he was the son of Charles N. Annette Sr. and Bella J. Bradley.
Charles spent two years studying in college, and in 1960 he joined the U.S. Air Force and served our country until 1980, achieving the rank of Master Sergeant as a jet engine mechanic.
While in the Air Force, Skip worked as an auto mechanic for 33 years at Sears until his retirement in 2003.
On Nov. 24, 1962, Charles married the love of his life, Jane Papin, at St. Alphonsus Church in Tupper Lake.
In his spare time, he enjoyed being a HAM radio operator as well as fishing, hunting, and woodworking. He was a member of the Chestertown Rod and Gun Club, Camp “Cherryknoll” in Tupper Lake and the NRA.
In addition to his parents, Charles was predeceased by his brother, Bradley Annette and a special Aunt Pat Bradley.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Jane Annette; his two daughters, Paula (Bill) Sterrett of Bellevue, Nebraska, and Jill Annette (Greg Clark) of Weeping Water, Nebraska; his grandchildren, Ryan Sterrett of Bellevue, Nebraska, and Hunter and Hailey Clark of Weeping Water, Nebraska.
At the family’s request, there will be no calling hours.
Burial will take place in the spring in Tupper Lake, at a time chosen by the family.
