Linda Provo (Fettes)
Linda Provo, 74, passed away at CVPH in Plattsburgh on April 19th following a short illness. Born September 1, 1943 in Lincoln, MI, she was the daughter of Orville and Evelyn (McGillis) Fettes.
She was a graduate of Tupper Lake High class of 1962 and went on to attend the Watertown school of commerce.
On May 27, 1976, she married Victor Provo. Linda was very active in the Tupper Lake community belonging to many local groups- Business and Professional women's Club serving as President in 2007-2008, Tupper Lake Fire Dept Auxiliary, Rotary Club and was a recipient of the Paul Harris Fellow Award and the New York Women Inc.
Linda enjoyed crocheting, spending time with family and friends, doing crossword puzzles and being involved in civic groups. She treasured her fur babies, Zoey , Tiny and Roxy. She loved to travel with the BPW functions and sharing these experiences with the wonderful group of women whom she called friends. She recently became a big fan of DIY shows on TV and would watch whenever they were on. Her friend Mary, got her watching The Young and the Restless and this became a ritual between the two.
She is survived by her son Michael of Tupper Lake, one brother Richard and his wife Sue of Utica, a niece Kelly DeWolfe and her husband Todd of Munnvsville, a nephew Dean Fettes and his fiancé Michele Gifford of Clinton and great nieces and nephews. Linda was pre-deceased by her parents and by her husband, Victor in 1987.
At the request of the family, there will be no calling hours, a celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations are asked to be made in her name to the Tri-Lakes Humane society In Saranac Lake or the Potsdam Humane Society in Potsdam.
