Donald Coady

It is with great sadness that the family of Don Coady announces his passing on Saturday, November 17, 2018, at the age of 58.

Don was born and raised in Camden, N.Y. with his three brothers, Doug, Robert, and Steven and his mother Sandy. He graduated from Camden High School where he met Patricia Christmas, who he married in 1980. Together they raised four children, Justin, Cory, Audrey, and Thomas.

Since relocating to Tupper Lake in 1988, Don has been an active member of the community. One of his greatest joys was sharing his passion for sports as a beloved football and baseball coach. He worked for years as a developmental aide at Sunmount. He also started and ran a successful chimney business with his close friend Andy DeVirgeles, which brought him into the homes and lives of many.

For the last several years, Don has shared his life with his fiance, Vivian Smith, who along with her family, has supported and loved Don unconditionally.

Don will be remembered by all who knew him for his love of music, hunting, and the stories that he told with humor, intensity, and passion. He lived his life full-throttle, which at his best, left his family with a love that will never end. The family appreciates all the love and support shown at this sad time. Please keep them in your thoughts, especially his four grandchildren, who always put a smile on his face and loud laughter in his heart.
