Antoine Maurice St. Pierre, 82

Antoine Maurice St. Pierre from Tupper Lake, New York, a retired carpenter with the Carpenters Local Union 1042 died unexpectedly Thursday, September 1, 2016.
Maurice is survived by his wife; Rita (Reandeau); his children Lise Johnson and companion Frederick Raymond, Carol and husband Patrick Sovay, Bruce and wife Lynn (Stone), Pierre and wife Lisa (Garrow), Eric, Sheila and husband Jean Gagnon, Kim and husband Patrick Thompson.  He also is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.  He is also survived by two brothers; Fernand and Real and four sisters; Annette, Noella, Francoise, Jeanne and predeceased by brothers; Norman, Blondin, Gustave and sister Gisele.
Maurice was born in St Rose Du Degelis, Quebec, Canada to his father Charles and mother Annie (Fournier) October 28, 1933.  He graduated from the School of Agriculture in Rimouski Quebec, Canada in 1950.  He moved to Tupper Lake in 1958 to work as a lumberjack where he took extra pride and joy in the training of work horses.  At that time, he met his wife Rita and they married on September 26, 1959. 
Maurice was an expert cabinet maker and spent most of his retirement working in his wood shop crafting custom cabinets and furniture for many people throughout Tupper Lake and surrounding communities. 
Maurice was an avid hockey fan.  He assisted in the construction of the Tupper Lake outdoor hockey rink years ago and later years, the Tupper Lake Memorial Civic Center.  In his free time,
Maurice also drew much joy from working in his garden and grooming his property.  He was a very proud father and grandfather. He is loved and will be dearly missed by his family.
Respects can be paid at the Stuart-Fortune-Keough Funeral Home, 24 Cliff Ave, Tupper Lake on Thursday, September 8 from 4p.m. to 7p.m.  A Mass of Christian burialwill be celebrated  on Friday, September 9 at the St. Alphonsus Church in Tupper Lake at 2p.m.
In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Maurice can be made to the Tupper Lake Rescue Squad in care of the funeral home.
