Marie (Sloat) Shofi, 75, of White Plains, N.Y., passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2016, surrounded by her family. Marie was a kind, thoughtful and giving soul and she will be sorely missed.
Marie was born to Giaconda and Charles Sloat in 1941 and lived for years in Harrison, N.Y. She enjoyed outdoor activities such as ice skating and skiing, as well as being an avid Girl Scout. During her time at Harrison High School, she participated in many activities, including the chorus, majorettes and band.
After graduation, Marie married Neil Shofi who owned the Harrison Sport Shop. They brought up three sons who and enjoyed summers in Tupper Lake where they owned and operated Three Pillars for many years.
She was employed by the Bank of New York where she was a Personnel Executive. Later, she worked for the Harrison School District. Marie loved spending time with her eight grandchildren and sharing her life lessons.
Marie is survived by her husband, Neil, sons- John (Connie) from Fredericksburg, VA; David (Leanne) from Ridgefield, CT; and Brian (Ruthie) from Ocean City, MD, and a sister Ann Acavell (Joseph). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Elizabeth, Jack, Aislinn, Michael, Mallory, James, Peter and Luke.
Marie was pre-deceased by her parents and her sister, Clare.
